How this repair differs by device

Select a device group or read each section to understand the checks, part route and repair limitations.

Phone screen replacement

Cracked glass, black displays, lines, colour patches and touch faults.

We identify the phone model and display type, inspect the frame and test touch before selecting the correct assembly. Where available, the quote can distinguish genuine manufacturer, service-pack, documented OEM, OLED and replacement options. On supported iPhones and other models, any expected parts-history message or calibration step is explained before approval.

Windows laptop screen replacement

The correct size alone is not enough to select a laptop panel.

Panel resolution, refresh rate, connector position, mounting style, touch support and display cable must match. We also check hinges and lid damage because fitting a new panel into a damaged body can cause the fault to return.

MacBook display repair

Lines, flicker, black display, backlight faults and damaged lid assemblies.

The MacBook model and year determine the display assembly and repair route. We inspect impact or liquid history, explain the part condition and expected repair-completion requirements, and test image, camera area, brightness and lid movement after fitting.

iPad and Android tablet screens

Some tablets use separate glass and LCD parts; others require a complete assembly.

We check whether the glass, touch layer, LCD/OLED panel or complete display is damaged, along with the frame and back cover. The correct route depends on the exact iPad, Samsung, Lenovo, Acer or Amazon Fire model.

Repair scenario

A broken screen sits in a bent housing

The display is damaged and the surrounding device frame no longer sits flat. Assess the supporting frame as well as the screen. The repair quote must account for a fitting surface that could stress a replacement panel.

Illustrative repair scenario, not a recorded TECHHELP customer job. The actual fault and repair options require assessment.

Trust & clarity

Before you approve the repair

This repair is handled with a clear diagnosis route, quote approval, warranty explanation and realistic advice before paid work goes ahead.

Warranty and diagnostic note Warranty depends on repair type, part used and device condition. Liquid damage, impact damage, previous repairs and board-level faults may have limited warranty depending on the issue. TECHHELP explains this before repair approval.

Diagnosis before approval

We check the exact symptoms and device condition before recommending parts, board work or deeper inspection.

Parts quality explained

We explain the available part quality, repair testing and warranty before you approve the work.

Data-conscious handling

Most hardware repairs do not need data access, but customers should back up important data where possible.

Clear warranty position

Impact damage, liquid damage, previous repairs and board-level faults can affect warranty. We keep this clear before repair.

FAQs

Repair questions and answers

Practical answers for the devices and faults covered on this page.

Is broken outer glass the same fault as a damaged display?

No. The outer glass, image-producing panel and touch layer may be separate or bonded together, depending on the model. Cracks, lines, black areas and dead touch can require different assemblies. The correct repair is confirmed for that design.

Can a black screen be caused by something other than the screen?

Yes. Power, display-cable, connector or board faults can also cause no image. Tell us whether the device rings, vibrates, starts up or works with an external display. These observations help guide diagnosis.

Should a bent frame or broken hinge be checked before screen replacement?

Yes. A distorted housing, damaged mount or hinge problem can put stress on a display. The quote should account for supporting damage rather than treating every cracked screen as an isolated part replacement.

Are all replacement iPhone screens equivalent?

No. Display type, quality, compatibility and repair completion can affect touch, brightness and colour behaviour. Ask which component is being fitted and which features are checked for that iPhone.

Will a screen repair recover data from a device that will not start?

Not necessarily. A display repair may restore access when the screen is the only fault, but startup, storage and board damage need separate assessment. Tell us if the main priority is recovering data before approving the repair.
