What to do if your iPhone is lost or stolen

Act quickly to lock the device, protect your Apple ID and reduce the risk of account or payment misuse.

Do now
  • Use Find My or iCloud.com/find.
  • Mark the device as lost.
  • Change Apple ID password if concerned.
  • Contact your mobile provider and bank if needed.
Do not do
  • Do not share Apple verification codes.
  • Do not remove the device from Find My too early.
  • Do not trust 'your iPhone was found' messages without checking Apple directly.

If your iPhone is lost or stolen, move quickly to protect accounts, payments and personal data.

  1. Use Find My or iCloud.com/find.Mark the device as lost if possible and follow Apple recovery steps.
  2. Do not share codes.Scammers may send โ€œyour iPhone has been foundโ€ messages. Do not share Apple ID passwords or verification codes.
  3. Contact your mobile provider.Block or replace the SIM/eSIM if needed.
  4. Protect payment and email accounts.Change important passwords if you believe someone may access the device.
