Do we need your PIN or password for repair?

Most repairs do not need your PIN or password. Some repairs need limited access for testing, calibration or programming only.

TECHHELP can help with

Most repairs do not need it

For many screen, battery, charging and port repairs, TECHHELP can check the fault and complete the hardware work without browsing your personal content.

When limited access may be needed

  • To confirm the repair worked properly.
  • To test display, touch, camera, speaker, microphone, charging, Face ID/biometrics or sensors where relevant.
  • To calibrate or program a replacement part.
  • To make sure the device recognises the replacement part correctly.
Our boundaryIf a PIN/password is needed, it is used only for system settings or repair-related software options. We do not use it to browse personal files, photos, messages, apps or account content.

Customer options

You can ask before repair whether access is likely to be needed. Where possible, you may use a temporary passcode and change it again after repair.
