Customer problem
I need a repair but I am worried about photos, messages, files, PIN/password or personal data.
Trust and privacy
Do now
- Back up your device where possible.
- Tell us if the device contains business, school or sensitive information.
- Ask before repair if you are worried about PIN/password access.
Do not do
- Do not hand over account passwords by message.
- Do not request data recovery without agreeing the scope first.
- Do not assume every repair needs device access.
TECHHELP can help with
- Explain whether your repair is likely to need access.
- Test repairs using system settings/software options where needed.
- Discuss data recovery or transfer as a separate approved service.
TECHHELP cannot do
- We do not bypass account security.
- We do not browse personal content as part of standard hardware repair.
Most standard hardware repairs do not require us to open photos, messages, banking apps, work files or personal documents. Our repair process is designed around fault testing, quote approval and clear customer consent.
PIN or password use
Most repairs do not need your PIN or password. Some repairs need limited access to confirm the repair worked, test the result, calibrate/program a replacement part, or access system settings needed for repair checks.
We do
- Use only what is needed for the repair job.
- Ask before data recovery, transfer or software restore.
- Explain why access is needed if testing requires it.
- Keep repair records for service and warranty purposes.
We do not
- Sell customer information.
- Browse personal files or apps.
- Copy data without approval.
- Ask for account passwords by message.
