Why chargers matter
The charger and cable are part of the device power path. Poor-quality, damaged or incorrect chargers can cause heat, charging drops, battery stress and sometimes charging-circuit faults.
Safer charger checklist
- Use the correct wattage for your phone, tablet or laptop.
- Avoid damaged cables, loose connectors or plugs that heat up.
- Use original or reputable OEM-quality chargers.
- Stop using chargers that buzz, smell, spark or disconnect randomly.
- Bring your charger and cable for testing if charging is unstable.
TECHHELP adviceIf a device charges only at an angle or works with one cable only, the issue may be the cable, charger, charging port or board-level power circuit.
